about the book

Minuscule Boxes in the Bird’s Bright Throat is a collection wherein my interest in a main street as the heart of a small town intersects with my enthrallment with birds. The ability of wings to carry one into an upper realm and back to earth at will became essential to these poems, perhaps because many of them are so grounded by that street. Though the idea of the main street providing the pulse of a town seems part now of a bygone era, what transpired on those main streets has shaped many of my generation. How does one’s self-image interact with the images inside the storefront windows? What impressions do we carry away from the glass?
